Land of the Cadigal people

With a renovation last done in the 1970’s this apartment was in dire need of a re-fresh. We stripped it out in its entirety and had to grapple with existing structure and lift core. Pulling out walls we discovered it had originally been two apartments, and existing wet areas had little flexibility for relocation due to existing plumbing locations. Discovering a lot of these restrictions upon demolition, post-design - meant we had to re-work the layouts to accommodate what couldn’t change. This is however a lot of what design is all about, solving problems and coming up with creative solutions. Sometimes, and more often than not, these challenges result in better outcomes.
